Mt Maria College Petrie has an extensive Vocational Education and Training (VET) program – providing students opportunities to develop valuable employability skills that will help to support their preparation for the future world of work. All students are encouraged to participate in the Vocational Education program offerings – either within the curriculum, or through school based traineeships and apprenticeships and external VET courses.


 

The College is a Registered Training Organisation 31761 (RTO) and is accredited to deliver a diverse range of nationally registered qualifications. The subject selection handbook lists all qualifications delivered at the College.

VOCATIONAL LEARNING
Mt Maria College Petrie provides opportunity for every student to succeed, and for every student to plan a pathway to enable them to lead a productive life beyond Year 12. The College has a Vocational Learning program which progresses from years 10 to 12.  This program includes:


  • ACARA Work Studies
  • Career exploration sessions
  • Individual career profiling
  • Work experience for all year 10 students
  • Excursion to National Career and Employment Expo
  • Opportunities to attend local University Open Days
  • Trade taster experiences 
  • Resume writing and employment coaching
  • Mock interviews.
