Our College

Mt Maria College Petrie is a Catholic secondary college for Years 7 – 12 and a welcoming and inclusive community educating approximately 500 young people.

We are large enough to present a rich breadth of offerings, yet small enough to know each of our students and their families very well. In fact, the building of authentic relationships is the key to our many successes.

Graduates achieve high results across ATAR scores, university entrance achievements and vocational pathways. The growth and success of our students is a shining representation of the evolution and maturity of our college community.

Our lush grounds provide a beautiful backdrop to the deep learning that takes place each day. 2022 sees the continuation of our building project with the development of the oval, new classroom block and extension of the Kolbe Sports Centre. Our master plan presents an exciting campus which includes vibrant learning spaces.

The young people at Mt Maria are deeply engaged in rich curriculum opportunities that enhance core skills and transfer these into real-world understandings.  We focus closely on developing the literacy of each student to support their learning across the curriculum. Our students enter a great diversity of pathways from their senior schooling.

Co-curricular activities occur largely within our involvement in the South East Colleges Association SECA inter-school sporting competition and school-based activities. Physical activity is important for student wellbeing and supports academic growth. Our young men and women represent themselves and the college very well, competing with high effort and in good spirit.

Our Marist charism is reflected in all that we do and offers a rich way to meaningfully connect the young people in our care to deeper understandings about the world.

Our students have many opportunities to become involved in various outreach programs such as The Breakfast Club and Care to Cook in which they serve those in need in the broader community.

Our Pastoral Care program is second to none and sees our students known and loved and supports their personal development throughout their years at the College.

To prospective parents, please access the many opportunities that are available to engage with us to understand how we can support your son or daughter in this caring environment.

You are invited to contact the college to book one of our regular Principal's Tours. These tours provide an impromptu opportunity to visit the college and see us in action on a normal school day.

To our current parents, as partners in the learning journey of our young people, we look forward to continuing to work with your family as your son or daughter flourishes at Mt Maria College, Petrie.
