On Monday the College celebrated RU OK Day (a few days early).
Young people are more likely to speak to their friends about problems before seeking help from an adult. That’s why it’s important that we prepare them with not only encouraging check ins, but teaching them how to keep the conversation going and get help from an adult if it’s needed.
We celebrated with games that promoted teamwork and increasing connectedness with one another. PCs participated in a scavenger hunt, answering riddles about places in the school where they can get help. ‘Breaking the Ice’ at 1st break saw students introducing a new friend in return for an ice block, and ‘Conversation Cards at 2nd break prompted some new conversations between friends.
